 Reality Check

The title refers to the oath sworn by witnesses when giving evidence in a court of law to tell "the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth". There were also movies called The Whole Truth made in 1923 and in 1958. It is unlikely that either of these has anything to do with the episode but coincidently the 1958 film does have a lead character named Max.
